       Of the 2nd Regiment of Illinois Foot Volunteers, commanded by Col. William H. Bissell, called into service of the United States, under the act of Congress, approved may 13, 1846, for twelve months from the 28th day of February when last mustered, to the 18th day of June, 1847, when discharged.

Note;
     As Bluff City Cemetery wasn't open in 1859 it is likely he was first interred at Elgin City Cemetery until it closed in 1906.
